Teaching Film – A Possible Approach

Watch the film in its entirety
Break the film up into a series of manageable sequences
Choose a sequence from the film being studied – approx 10 minutes
Allow the students to view the piece
Give instructions for focused viewing
Follow with class discussion/assignment
Particular attention should be paid to sequences containing Key Moments
